Lectures, Events, Meetings and Future Projects

The Centre has been strongly involved in the Oxford-Berlin Partnership from the start and continues to support it with a number of events and projects, including early career research stays, visiting fellowships, workshops, co-supervision of doctoral students, and the development of joint funding initiatives.

Our most recent project is run by our Oxford Berlin Einstein Fellow, Prof Stefano Evangelista (Trinity College), together with Prof Gesa Stedman, Dr Evi Heinz and Rosa Chrystie-Lowe. “Boundaries of Cosmopolis” explores the literary exchanges between Berlin and London in the early 20^th century, and is particularly interested in the way in which boundaries and exclusion coincided with exchanges in a period which saw the emergence of a new understanding of Berlin as a “world city”.

Our highly popular annual Oxford-Berlin Lecture series continues every semester, with the most recent speakers including Prof Patricia Clavin (June 2024), Prof Patricia Owens (November 2024), and Prof Philip Bullock (January 2025). Please consult our lecture programme for the most recent update.
