Rosa Chrystie-Lowe is a doctoral researcher as part of the research project ‘The Boundaries of Cosmopolis’, funded by the Einstein Foundation and co-led by Prof. Stefano Evangelista (University of Oxford) and Prof. Gesa Stedman (HU Berlin). She holds an MA in Literary Translation from the University of East Anglia, and a BA in English and German from the University of Oxford. Rosa’s PhD research seeks to position Berlin as cosmopolis and a nexus of cultural exchange in the early twentieth century, and specifically, to investigate the transfer, translation, and reception of texts between Berlin and the British Isles at this time. Her wider research interests include literary translation, comparative literature, world literature, geography and place studies.
